Thomas Mills Dennis “Tim”September 11, 1946 – September 5, 2026Thomas Mills Dennis, known as Tim and, to his grandchildren, “Big Daddy,” was a truly remarkable man whose greatest legacy was the love he gave so generously to his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know him.
Born September 11, 1946, in Cleburne, Texas, to Ione and Franklin Dennis, Tim grew up with a love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, played football throughout school, and continued his football career at Washburn University, where he was a proud member of Kappa Sigma. As a young man, Tim earned the rank of Eagle Scout, a reflection of the leadership, perseverance, and character that would remain hallmarks of his life.
After college, Tim built a successful career in the staffing industry, serving as Executive Vice President of Peakload and President of Backlog Temporaries before founding TMD Staffing. He built the company from the ground up and was especially proud to mentor his sons, Ricky and Rory, who followed in his footsteps and continued the business he worked so hard to build. Tim also served as President of Temporary Services Insurance Limited from 2016–2022.
But Tim's greatest pride was always his family.
He was the devoted husband of Katherine “Kathy” Rust Dennis, the love of his life and his wife of more than 50 years. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, family, friendship, and adventure. Tim loved traveling with Kathy, especially anywhere there was salt water.
He was a proud father to Angela “Angel” Dennis Bilnoski and her husband, Adam; Thomas Andrew “Tad” Dennis and his husband, Zack Hamra; Patrick Mills “Ricky” Dennis; and Robert Ryan “Rory” Dennis and his wife, Kelly. He loved his children fiercely and was endlessly proud of the people they became.
His grandchildren—Evann Ellyse Bilnoski, Hudson Graham Dennis, Copeland Graham Dennis, and Seth Christian Bilnoski—held a very special place in his heart. To them, he was simply Big Daddy.
Big Daddy was larger than life—a storyteller, adventurer, mentor, teacher, protector, fisherman, hunter, and the person everyone knew they could count on. He shared his love of fishing with his family, traveling wherever the fish were biting and creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
His second home in Marathon, Florida, in the Florida Keys was the perfect reflection of Tim’s life—family, fishing, friendship, sunshine, salt water, and the tropics. It was a place where everyone gathered, laughter came easily, stories never seemed to end, and memories were made.
Tim also had an extraordinary heart. He never met a stranger in need whom he didn’t want to help. His compassion extended far beyond his own family, and his service to children and families through The Foundation for Children was one of the many ways he turned that compassion into action.
Tim leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who treasured him, and a lifetime of stories that will be told for generations. Above all, he will be remembered for the way he loved—with generosity, loyalty, humor, and an unmistakable zest for life.
He will be missed beyond words and loved forever.
