Obituary

Thomas Albert Breedlove, 85, passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2023, surrounded by family and friends in Houston, Texas. Tom was born on November 12, 1937, to William Samuel Breedlove and Vada Jesse Thomas Breedlove in Red Oak, Iowa.

Tom was a graduate of Red Oak High School, class of 1955, and attended Iowa University. Tom met his wife of 57 years, Lynn King, in 1965 in Omaha, Nebraska, and they were married on July 3, 1965, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imogene, Iowa. His work with the Missouri Pacific Railroad moved the family from Omaha to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1976, where the family set down deep roots. The family later settled in Houston where he retired and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working in the garage, grilling steaks and watching his beloved Nebraska Huskers. GO BIG RED!

Tom was a member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Cypress, Texas, where he served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister and an Engaged Encounter Sponsor. He was elected to his local Municipal Utility District Board and was a member of the Transportation Club for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, now Union Pacific.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother and father, Vada and Bill, his sister, Mary Black and brother-in-law, Darwin Black, and his cousin, Doug Breedlove.

Tom is survived by his wife, Lynn, his sister Betty Dolyak of San Antonio, Texas, his children, Bob and Lisa Breedlove of Tyler, Texas, Bill and Jeannette Breedlove of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jim and Jennifer Breedlove of Shenandoah, Texas, and Julie and Kenny Faterkowski of Houston, Texas. His eleven grandchildren, Jacob Breedlove, Michele and Mason Sullivan, Ryan Breedlove, Kaitlyn and Lealand Sinnreich, Thomas and Taylor Breedlove, Molly Breedlove, Luke Breedlove, Mary Lynn Breedlove, Megan Breedlove, Barrett Faterkowski and Weston Faterkowski, his four great-grandchildren, Atticus Sullivan, Henry Sullivan, Emily Sinnreich and Sarah Sinnreich and numerous nieces and nephews will miss him dearly.
