Theodore "Ted" Oscar Friedrich Jr. of Spring, TX passed away on April 16, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife and daughter.  He was 75 years old.

Ted was born in Galveston, TX on March 20, 1944 to Theodore Oscar Friedrich Sr. and Laura Katharine Pauls.   He is the oldest of 5 children.

Ted and his family moved to Lake Charles, LA where he attended LaGrange High School.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in the early 60's and was active duty for 2 years and 4 years reserves.  August 5, 1967, he married his sweetheart, Luanne, in Lake Charles. Ted attended McNeese State University and graduated in 1971 with a BS in Accounting.  After graduation he accepted a job at Kirby Lumber Corporation in Houston.  He was then relocated to their main headquarters in Silsbee, TX and worked there for 4 years. Around 1975, they moved back to Houston to make their permanent residence. He began work with Brown & Root and in April 1976 they welcomed a daughter, Christiana.  He worked for Brown & Root/KBR for the better part of 40 years, and retired shortly before his death in 2019.

Ted loved his family and had a very dry sense of humor.  He was an avid stamp collector and loved surfing the internet. Igor was his "old man's hotrod" and will be cared for by his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Randy Friedrich.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Luanne Friedrich; his daughter, Christiana "Christi" Williams and husband Coy; granddaughters, Payton Williams and Parker Williams; sister Diana Byrley and husband Greg; brothers, Lewis Hawk, and Michael Ward and wife Jeannie; nephew, Daniel Chimeo and wife Julie; niece, Angela Little and husband Bob; and many more cousins and extended family members.

A memorial gathering at 9am followed by a memorial service for Ted at 10am will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champions Forest Drive, Spring, TX 77379. As a proud United States Navy Veteran, Ted will be laid to rest in Houston National Cemetery on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:30am, directly following the service.
