Theodora (Theo) M. Pieper, 93, of Porter, Texas, died February 4, 2022.

Born to Dora M. and Albert T. Larson on June 16, 1928, in San Antonio Texas, Theo never knew a stranger – she invited everyone into her heart.

Theo and Alfred H. Pieper married April 19, 1951 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in San Antonio, Texas. Although they didn't have children, they adopted a couple of puppies – a black Cocker Spaniel named Cindy and a Boston terrier named Nikki – who completed their family.

Educated at Incarnate Word College, San Antonio, Theo graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Business Education. She took this degree and dedicated herself to a career as a teacher for over 20 years in the school districts of San Antonio, Grand Prairie, and Houston.

Theo was the Secretary-Treasurer for the national honor fraternity for business students in Kappa Pi Sigma, Business Club President,  President of the Entre Nous Club, Secretary for the San Antonio Insurance Women, Sunday school teacher, as well as holding various offices within the church youth group and city-wide YMCA. In addition, she volunteered as the Personnel Services Manager for JESS (part-time placement service for Incarnate Word Students), and held office positions as the secretary, bookkeeper, and/or typist for the Auction Committee of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, U.S. Army Reserve Corps, Loyalty Group Insurance Company, National Bank of Commerce in San Antonio, the Fourth Army Induction and Separation Center, and the U.S. Post Office.

Throughout her life, Theo was constantly active. She was a member of the National Business Education Association and Classroom Teachers Association, Sponsor of Future Secretaries Association (South Grand Prairie High School Chapter), Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, Alpha Chi (National Honor Society), Phi Theta Kappa, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Purple Hat Society. Theo also volunteered at the Spring Historical Museum and The Broadmoor.

Theo found community at Holy Comforter Episcopal church in Spring, Texas. She was thankful in the guidance she received there as she grew in her Christian faith.  She volunteered her time to many of their out-reach programs, and was a member of the Order of the Daughters of the King and the Altar Guild. In addition, she was an enthusiastic member and participant of the Upper Crust and "Holy Rollers."

Gardening, traveling, music, socializing, reading, learning, and a good laugh brought joy to Theo; family, friends, community, and church were her mainstays.

Theo was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and nine siblings.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, 2322 Spring Cypress Road, Spring, TX 77388. A reception will follow the service.
