Obituary

Thelma Armand Jennings was born August 16, 1933 in Cottonport, Louisiana and passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in Katy, Texas at the age of 86.

Thelma grew up in Cottonport, Louisiana and graduated from Cottonport High School.  She moved to New Orleans in the early 1960's and worked as a dental assistant until the mid-1970's, when she decided to make a career change to go into apartment management.  In 1977, Thelma made the big move to Houston, Texas.  In the years to follow, both her daughters moved from New Orleans and joined her in Houston.  Thelma retired from apartment management in 2003 and then enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends.  She loved flowers, particularly orchids and roses, and she especially loved receiving them.  Thelma was also a great lover of sports, her favorites being the Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints, LSU football and the Houston Astros.

Thelma is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis Julius and her husband, Chic, and Renee Runyan and her husband, Tom; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Brandon and Kaylen Runyan, and Chris Julius and his wife, Heather, along with five great-grandchildren,  Kenlee and Connor Runyan and Brayden, Laikyn and Harper Julius.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clovis and Lula Armand, and her brother, Nolan Armand and sister-in-law, Virginia.

Special thanks to Efe and Beverly and the staff at Home of Serenity, to Barbara and Mary with Vantage Hospice and to her close friend and neighbor, Janice, for the great care they all provided.
