Terry Scott Tanner was born September 5, 1964 in Bexar county, San Antonio to the late Robert Lee and Wanda Jeanette Tanner.

He grew up in Houston TX where he met as a teenager, the love of his life, Shawn. Shawn and Terry were married for 35 years, although together a lifetime since the second grade. Terry followed in his brother and father's footsteps. As a truck driver for local Houston area companies, he continued his career in the concrete business working for local Magnolia Campbell Concrete and most recently, Allied Concrete in Hockley. Terry at a young age served in the West Mount Houston Fire Department as a volunteer for 2 years. Many years later, he joined the Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department for 7 years, becoming Captain of Station 183. This was his way of serving his community. He loved it.

Terry was a beloved husband, daddy, pawpaw and brother. He was just down to earth good ole boy with a golden heart who never had anything to give but his helping hands. Terry was a hard worker up to his last breath to provide for his family. His love for good ole country music and his favorite "Gene Watson" would have him sit and replay the "greats" over and over again.

Terry is preceded in death along with his parents, brother Billy Ray, grandson Teighton William. He is survived by his wife Shawn, children Kimberly and Matthew, Nathan and Justin. Pawpaw's grandbabies Kaitlyn, Kyler, Jayden, Jordan, Drayke, Brayliegh, Paisley (on the way). His brother Bobby and wife Alma, his sister Karen and husband Jarrel, DeeDee and Terry, Patty and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
