Terry Neal Cashion passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2026. He was born on December 17, 1934, to Roy C. Cashion and Catherine (Davis) Cashion and grew up in Hickman Kentucky, where he loved to fish and hunt for the family.

As a teenager, Terry enjoyed riding bikes, going to the movies with friends and playing softball and baseball for independent teams.

While attending Bethel Junior College in Kentucky, Terry felt called to preach. He became licensed by the Methodist church in Hickman, KY, and was able to preach there often.

In the summer of 1955, following graduation from Bethel, he was visiting his dad and stepmother in Waxahachie, Texas when he met Maryneil Daniel at Ferris Avenue Baptist Church. They dated that summer and he transferred to Baylor University, in Waco, that fall. They dated for two years then were married in June 1957 at Ferris Avenue Baptist Church.

While attending Baylor, a friend asked Terry if he would like to preach at a church that needed a pastor. He preached at New Energy Church near Crockett, Texas, and was asked to become the pastor. Terry accepted and was ordained on October 11, 1959. He drove 125 miles every other weekend to preach in Crockett and preached on the other weekends near Waxahachie, Texas. Maryneil was always by his side.

Later, God provided for them by leading him to preach at Latexo Baptist Church in Latexo, Texas, where a parsonage was provided. Not wanting to leave family each week, Terry transferred from Baylor to Sam Houston University and completed his Bachelor's degree.

After six years in Latexo, Terry felt led to move his family to Colleyville, Texas, to be the pastor at Pleasant Run Baptist Church. This is where he and Maryneil raised their three daughters: Sherry, Karen and Renee. Terry earned his Master's degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He stayed in Colleyville for 32 years until he retired in 1999.

Following retirement, he and Maryneil moved to Cypress, Texas, to be near their oldest daughter Sherry, son-in-law, Bobby and their two children, Justin and Jordan. Even in retirement, Terry continued to serve the Lord in his community and pastored at The Terrace Retirement home in Houston.

Terry loved sharing about Jesus and lived his life serving the Lord and witnessing to others. His impact for the Kingdom is immeasurable, and he was certainly greeted by our Lord with the words "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Roy Cashion; mother, Catherine Cashion; and his daughter, Sherry Koch.

He is survived by his wife, Maryneil Cashion; daughter Karen Getzendanner (Mike) and step-grandsons Nick and Blake; daughter Renee Anderson (Brad) and grandson Connor; son-in-law Bobby Koch and grandchildren Justin and Jordan; and sister Tonie Allard (Dan}

A celebration of Terry's life and faith will be led by Dr. Joe Blair at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 1 at Klein Funeral Home – CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, TX 77065. Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 1 p.m.

A graveside service will be led by Pastor Chad Rogers on Monday, February 2 at 1:30pm at Waxahachie City Cemetery – 300 S. Hawkins St. Waxahachie, TX 75165
