Terri Lea Scotton Klotz, 70, of Houston, passed away August 7, 2024. She was born September 1, 1953, in Houston, Texas, to William Alfred and Mary Catherine Scotton.

She is survived by her loving husband Norbert Klotz; daughter, Shelley Richard; son, Jason Klotz and wife, Wendy; grandchildren Rowan & Ava Richard, Reagan, Vaughn & Lana Klotz; siblings Patti Ragsdale (Roy), Marilyn Dumas (Philip), Kim Crowley (David), and William A. "Chip" Scotton, Jr. (Brandye), along with many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Scotton, and her son-in-law, Patrick Richard.

Terri grew up in Houston and Missouri City, graduating from Dulles High School, and going on to work for the Mischer Corporation until she had her first child. She then became a stay-at-home mom to Shelley and Jason for many years. She later worked at various places, including Macy's sampling Godiva chocolate, Shanks, Tritter & Ledbetter law firm, Kelsey-Seybold, Carriage Candle Company, co-owner of a t-shirt business with her sisters, and as a crossing guard.

In 1975, Terri married the love of her life, Norbert "Norby" Klotz. They raised Shelley and Jason in Houston and were active in the Catholic Church, putting God at the center of their family. Throughout their marriage, the two traveled together and with their family to many places, including in the last year, trips to the Biltmore in Asheville, NC, Graceland (they loved Elvis), and Cabo San Lucas. On August 23, Terri and Norby would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. The two shared a beautiful life together, and Norby stayed by her side until the end, making sure she knew how loved and cherished she was.

Terri had a remarkable ability to light up any gathering with her infectious energy and vibrant spirit. Her humor, warmth, and genuine personality led to her creating many meaningful friendships and maintaining close bonds with friends she made from childhood to more recent years. Much like her spirit animal, the flamingo, Terri was beautiful and vibrant, standing out in most crowds.

The role Terri enjoyed most was that of grandmother to her five grandchildren. As their Lala, she never missed the chance to celebrate holidays and birthdays, attend school programs, cheer the loudest at their games, and attend Grandparents Day events at school. She loved spending time with them, whether it was a spontaneous ice cream run, a visit to the neighborhood pool, a shopping adventure, or family vacations, including the Frio River, Florida, Galveston, and others. She made each grandchild feel uniquely cherished, and her home was a welcoming second home for all of them. Lala made everything the most fun, and no one loved bigger than she did. She will be deeply missed by all who love her.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home - Champions, 16131 Champion Forest Dr, Spring, TX, 77379.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX, 77379, with Rev. Wayne Ly officiating. Terri believed in celebrating life with color. In her memory, consider wearing pink—her favorite—or other lively colors that reflect her joyful spirit.
