Ted Pruden was 89 years old. He was born on November 30, 1931, and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 6, 2021.
He is survived by his family who loved and cared for him: his wife, Lillian; his son and daughter-in-law, Lamoin and Darlene Pruden; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Fortson; and his granddaughter, Madison Pruden, and his grandson, Ryan Fortson; as well as his younger brother, Bo Pruden. He has been preceded in death by his mother and father, Vester and Silas Pruden; his brothers: Pud and Jack Pruden, and his sister, Arlene Ellis.
He graduated from Quitman High and East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas, with his Bachelor's Degree in English. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He met the love of his life, Lillian Patterson, on a blind date. They were married for 67 years. He was a loving and caring husband, dad, and pawpaw—wonderful family man and provider. He enjoyed participating in his children's activities, taking his family to Astro's baseball games, and making memories on family vacations to Yellowstone and The Grand Canyon—we still reminisce about fun times to this day. This was all made possible by his working for Shell Oil Company for 41 years. Once he retired, he enjoyed two awesome cruises with his wife to Hawaii and Alaska; as well as several trips to Las Vegas. He also enjoyed spending precious time with his grandkids. He lived a long, full life and placed his faith on John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." He will be truly missed.
