Sylvia Annette Grissom, age 88, of Montgomery, passed away July 28th. She was born November 29th, 1936, in Palestine, Texas to the late Sloan Edward Butler and Savilla Evelyn (Kelley) Butler.

She is survived by her daughter, Leah Grissom; bonus daughter, Donna Grissom; bonus daughter, Connie (Pedro) Edery; bonus son, Bill Grissom; bonus grandsons, Budd and Charlie Grissom; sister, Gay (Nathan) Angst; grandson Kacey (Morgan) Bullard; great granddaughter, Marlowe Bullard; great granddaughter, Cove Bullard; granddaughter, Alyssa (Robert) LaPointe; great grandson, Easton LaPointe; great grandson, Rhett LaPointe; bonus granddaughter, Stella Grissom; bonus grandson, Damian Gonzalez; and numerous cousins and friends.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her bonus son, Bill Grissom; sister, Dorothea Hardt; nephew, Ricky Hardt; and brother, Royce Butler.

Sylvia "Granny" Grissom gained her wings and was set free from her fight with cancer & several debilitating health issues on July 28, 2025. We know she was immediately wrapped in Jesus' arms and the love of her life W.T (Bud) Grissom. This gives us all such joy and peace. After losing Bud, my mother was my best friend and Granny to my children and her great grandchildren whom she adored. We can't count the number of those that considered her their mom & Granny outside of our family, it would be impossible to list the many, she loved as her own & mother was loved just as much by those bonus family she added to our lives right up until the end. She found such joy in her family telling her doctors, nurses and friends all about all of us. Sylvia also enjoyed her years as Goodwill ambassador for Cut-n-Shoot Harley Davidson & Rough riders riding club. Most weekends you'd find her behind the wheel of her Harley Truck, following her sister & brother-in-law along with their bike family from here to Bandera, etc. She fought a tough & heartbreaking battle with several health issues & is now at peace. She was our rock, our mother, sister, grandmother and friend, and she did an amazing job at it. She was that mother, grandmother and friend we all could count on. Her 5' stature held a soul larger than life. She lived life to the fullest and kept us all in check and laughing. Most of all she was loved. She is already missed dearly and will be forever.
