SUZANNE MOSS, 84, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2018. She is survived by her son Joe Jr. "Rusty" Moss (Malinda), daughters Danette Ferguson (Dave), Michelle Catanese, and Melissa Young (Matt), Seven Grandchildren (Courtnie, Justin, Megan, Danielle, Dillon, Michael and Mackenzie), One Great-Grandson (Finnian), her sister Betty Mapes, brother Ken Curry (Delia), brother-in-law Julian Moss (Betty), many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends. Suzanne is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Joe K. Moss.
Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother of four, and friend to all. She never met a stranger, and considered it her mission to welcome others into her home and show them Christ-like love. Suzanne was a 'true' friend to many, and she shared her Christian faith daily by serving others.
A relentless volunteer, Suzanne epitomized the definition of community service. She led countless volunteer efforts including: Hospital Candy Striper, Church Choir, Den Mother, EMT/Volunteer Ambulance, Little League Concession Stand, School Copy Room, Clown at MD Anderson, Camp Peniel Kitchen, Jersey Village City Hall, PTA, Bus Driver, etc. She was the original Community Organizer.
Suzanne enjoyed being a dedicated member of many civic and non-profit organizations, including: The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Beta Sigma Phi, Camp Peniel Ladies' Auxiliary, and the Cheerful Clowns Alley.
Suzanne loved square dancing, bowling, wrapping houses, leading Christmas carols, entertaining, clowning in parades, the Texas Children's Hospital, and other hospital visitations. Always the student, she attended the Jersey Village Volunteer Police Academy, Volunteer Fireman Academy, Bookkeeping School, EMT School, and even studied Auto Mechanics. Above all, Suzanne was a die-hard fan of the Fighting Texas Aggies.
When she wasn't serving her community, Suzanne loved to spend time with her seven grandchildren. She would keep as many of the grandchildren at the same time as possible, because as a grandmother, Suzanne valued the special relationships that cousins share.
Suzanne will be buried beside her husband, Joe, at Houston National Cemetery in a private family service. Visitation with the family will be 1pm Friday 3/30/18, followed by 2pm Funeral Service at Klein Funeral Home on Wortham Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Camp Peniel www.CampPeniel.org
