Susie Gonzales Garza passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on July 28, 2026, at the age of 94, in Cypress, TX. She was born August 11, 1931, to Eugene Gonzales and Guadalupe Zermeno Gonzales.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amador Garza Sr.; her sons, Amador Garza Jr., Sam Garza, James Garza, and Eugene Garza; her sisters, Mary Alice Gloria, Ophelia Ramirez, Minerva Gonzales, Gloria Cardona; and her brother, Raymond Gonzales Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Johnston and Linda Winfrey, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mom was a loving and doting wife for 61 years to our dear father, Amador Garza Sr., and a dedicated mother to six children. She was a traditional, loving housewife and mother who always had fresh, hot, handmade tortillas ready with every meal. She enjoyed gardening outdoors, taking evening walks with neighborhood friends, and dancing with our father in the front living room to their favorite music.
Every evening, we would hear her walking down our long hallway praying the Rosary. She was devoted to praying for everyone she knew, and those she didn't know, the homeless, the sick, Veterans, people she saw on the street corner, and world peace. Caring for so many while remaining holy, simple, and sweet, she was an inspiration to us all. Her famous words were, "Only the Lord knows."
Those who knew her, called her "Sweet Susie". For our family she was the sweetest Wife, Mom, Grandma, Aunt and Sister! May you now rest in peace Mom.
Serving as pallbearers, Ken Mace, Nick Winfrey, Gabriel Garza, Yair Lara, Michael Ramirez, Albert Ramirez.
