Obituary

Susan Renea Dupré, 67, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024. She was born September 5, 1956, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Virgil Douglas Miller and Vestal Valley (Knight) Miller.

As a young woman, she met and fell in love with Daniel Dupré, whom she married on January 10, 1976, in Houston and started a family with soon after.

Susan was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who gave everything she had to her family to make them feel so very loved and special. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and laughing, was always interested in everything going on in their lives, and would do anything to make their lives better.

In addition to being an amazing cook, she planned the most thoughtful celebrations. Holidays were most looked forward to, especially Thanksgiving, when she would cook an incredible meal, and Christmas, which filled everyone with childlike excitement, adults included, who looked forward to the warmth and love she poured into preparing everything so beautifully. On family birthdays, even into her children's adulthood, she went all out in making that person feel the most special in the world the whole day, surprising them with thoughtful gifts, baking them a beautifully decorated cake, and cooking a delicious meal for everyone.

She loved family trips to the beach, especially the beautiful, fluffy white sand beaches of Destin, Pensacola, and St. George Island, Florida. Her family's happiness and simply having everyone around to share life and laughter with were her greatest joys. She made the best of everything in life and always made her family feel safe, comforted, and at home wherever she was. There was no one who knew her that didn't remember her kind soul and warm heart.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Miller.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Ray Dupré; her daughters, Christie Renea Whitt of Beckville and Mindy Sue Dupré of Houston; her son, Eric Daniel Dupré, and wife Heather of Trinity; and grandsons, Joshua Martin and Matthew Whitt.

Susan is deeply missed by all who love her. — From Dan, her devoted husband of over 48 years, "I miss you, my best friend. I'll see you again, on streets of pure gold."
