On February 24th, 2024, at the beginning of a beautiful sunrise, Susan Lynn Dietrich departed her earthly home. She left knowing she was wrapped in the love of family and friends and most importantly with her unwavering love and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Susan knew without doubt that her final destination was her homecoming in Heaven with her father and brothers who met her with open arms.

Susan was born to Joyce Copeland and Phillip Ludwig on August 26th, 1959 in Houston, Texas. She was the youngest of their three children. Her brothers shared many a memory about her feistiness and fun-loving spirit even as a child.

She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, wife, friend, mother and grandmother. No matter how you knew her the same words would be used to describe her; faithful, fun, loyal, giving, strong, loving, supportive, brave.

Her superpowers were the ability to make people feel special and the gift of letting the grace of God work through her. The light of God was shown through Susan her whole life. That exuberance and love of life was infectious.

After a long career in the field of engineering, Susan stayed active by babysitting grandkids, volunteering at church, and playing Bunco with the ladies' group. She also enjoyed creating personalized gift baskets for others. It was her way of showing she cared about you and what you were interested in.

While spending time with family and friends was what made her the happiest, she would shine the brightest when her grandbabies were around. If there was a game or event for her kids or grandkids, Susan showed her full support by joyfully cheering them on while decked out in team colors.

She loved to travel on cruises, road trips (especially to family reunions), or flights to the coast or overseas, however, her most cherished times were the weekends spent at the lake house cooking for family and friends, hosting birthday parties, judging fishing contests and watching the sunsets off the back porch.

Susan's zeal for life did not let failing health define her. With each new challenge presented she would courageously go through the treatment or procedure (and there were many) just so she could enjoy more time with her family.

Susan is survived by her husband Drew Dietrich, son Glen Ginsel, daughter-in-law Ann (Ngo) Ginsel, son Ryan Ginsel, daughter-in-law Kathryn (Bruce) Ginsel, grandson Greyson Ginsel, grandson Everett Ginsel, stepson Nathan Dietrich, step grandson Nicholas Bruce, mother Joyce (Hibler) Copeland, mother-in-law Barbara Fischer and sister-In-law Patti Ludwig. There are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will miss her dearly. Susan was preceded in death by her father Philip Ludwig and brothers Stephen Ludwig and Brian Ludwig.
