Susan Coy went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2024 at the age of 74 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born on January 19, 1950, in Mahoning, Pennsylvania. She spent her childhood in the Northeast, mostly in New Jersey.  In 1977, Susan moved to Texas, and while she always held a love for the Northeast in her heart, her life's work and ministry were fulfilled in Houston.

After a brief stint in corporate America, Susan found her true calling as both a mother and a teacher.  From 1982 forward, she dedicated herself to her family and to teaching, both academic and Biblical studies.  She was a wonderful mother who was always there when her children needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance.  To her students (whom she lovingly referred to as "her kids") she invested her tremendous gift of teaching to ensure their success, giving freely of her time to any who asked for it.

However, first and foremost Susan was a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and all of her efforts began and ended with her devotion to God.   She dedicated 40 years of her life to proclaiming and teaching the work and worth of Jesus Christ to anyone who crossed her path. The defining aspect of Susan's life was her willingness to give her time, care, and love to those around her.  She would make time to encourage, teach, and counsel anyone who sought her input, always interlacing the work of Jesus and His call on our lives.

A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community in Houston, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She was predeceased by her daughter Abigail Coy and is survived by her son Ian Coy, along with countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
