Stewart R. Cannon died on February 29, 2024. A founding member of the Houston punk rock group AK-47, he is remembered for his skill as a guitarist, and for his humanity. He was 69 years old. Stew was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 3, 1954. He was a resident of Spring, Texas. He is survived by sister, Cynthia Cannon, brother, Layne Cannon, and his beloved dog Libby. He is also survived by niece Sarah Czerniewski and nephews Thomas Cannon, Michael Czerniewski, Joseph Czerniewski, and Daniel Czerniewski. Preceded in death by father George S. Cannon and mother Rita Braud Cannon, sister Cheryl Cannon Czerniewski, and his wife Catherine Flynn Cannon. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, TX. Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, at Klein Memorial Park Cemetery, Pinehurst, TX.
