Steven Walter Marsh was a beloved husband, father, grandfather "Pops", brother, and friend. He was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on September 1, 1959 to Walter "Bud" and Mariella Marsh. He grew up in Longmont, Colorado where he met his high school sweetheart Mary Herzfeld Marsh at Niwot High School. Steve received his bachelor's degree at Metro State University in Denver where he played baseball. Steve and Mary have two children Megan and Jeff. Steve's proudest role was being a grandfather and best Pops to Emmie and Gwenyth.

Steve had a long career of almost 40 years in the oil and gas industry where he was a revered leader and mentor to many. He began his career after college in 1981 at Colorado Gas Compression in Longmont, Colorado. He moved his family to Cypress, Texas in 1993 where he worked for Dynegy and Enbridge making large impacts in the natural gas sectors. He was currently working as an expert witness specializing in contracts for major oil and gas companies. Steve was passionate about his career and worked incredibly hard to make a name for himself in his field.

Steve was a wonderful family man and sports fan. He loved to be surrounded by his family and friends and making everyone laugh. He was known as Coach Steve to many as he coached his kids' sports teams over the years. He was passionate about coaching kids and being a strong role-model to children. Steve also was a die-hard Colorado sports fan always cheering for the University of Colorado football and basketball teams, Denver Broncos, and Colorado Rockies. Steve loved his family and friends and was admired and loved by many. His witty sense of humor made him the life of the party.

Steve is survived by his wife of 39 years Mary Marsh, daughter Megan Marsh, son Jeff Marsh, daughter-in-law Lucy Marsh, granddaughters Emmie and Gwenyth, sister Susan Hemphill, and a large extended family. His passing will reunite him with his mother and father.

One of Steve's passion in life was coaching kids. He had a dream to retire and coach baseball teams in underserved areas of Houston. We want to honor his memory to help a wonderful organization that helps build sports complexes, provides mentorships, and education to children in the Houston area. The family will receive friends on October 1 from 5-8, a private service that will be streamed at 2PM on October 2 followed by a celebration of life at Ravaneaux Country Club for all to attend from 3PM-7PM.
