Obituary

Steve Macey Bishop

December 4, 1970 - February 21, 2026

Steve was born in Houston, Texas to parents Lanier R and Billie Carol Bishop. Steve's childhood was spent in both Houston and Taylor, Texas. He is preceded in death by Lanier R Bishop (father), Billie Carol Bishop (mother), Lisa Jo Bishop and Christina Umberger (sisters).

Steve and the love of his life, Lori Jeanne (Olsen), were high school sweethearts who fell in love at 17. They enjoyed over 31 years of marriage and raised two amazing sons, Devin Lanier and Grant Macey Bishop.

Steve dedicated more than 28 years to Electronic Power Design, Inc. (EPD), joining the company in 1997 when it was still a small business. Over the course of his career, he worked in the shop, in the field commissioning equipment, in engineering, and ultimately in senior management. He played a key role in establishing EPD's in-house fabrication shop, helping transform the company into a fully integrated manufacturing operation. Known for his mechanical intuition and relentless determination, he could troubleshoot and repair machines with a level of skill that often surpassed even factory representatives.  He was more than an employee; he was a cornerstone of the company's success.

Steve enjoyed traveling abroad with his family and friends exploring the world.  He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his boys, working on his property and spending time with his brother.  Most of all, he loved his family.

Steve is survived by his wife Lori, Devin and Grant (sons), Brynlee (granddaughter), Ginger Becker (mother-in-law), Mark Bishop (brother) and his wife Christen, Toni Byrd (sister), Rodney Becker (brother-in-law) and nephews and nieces who he loved very much.
