Obituary

Stephen was born Tuesday, November 15, 1949, to parents Charles Anthony and Mary Fredrica Shank in Salem, Virginia. He was the fourth of five children. Steve was a very active child, loving to play hockey on the frozen rivers in Roanoke as well as sledding down Star Mountain. Steve was also a very avid football player all through school. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served a little over four years at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as a mechanic. He served his time and was honorable discharged in 1974. He moved back to Roanoke and began his family in 1975 with the first of two daughters. In 1980, Steve made the decision to move his family to Magnolia, Texas and started a mechanic shop in Tomball. He then started another company of pool building. In 1984, he married his second wife and gained a son and another daughter. Steve began his final career as a salesman and excelled as one of the top salespersons in each of the jobs he held until his retirement in 2009. After almost 30 years of marriage, he became a widower in 2014. He used the time to spend with family and make new friends. Steve enjoyed playing golf, traveling and dancing. He met his last love and married her in 2021, Judy Ann Glenn. He spent time sharing his love with her for his final years and he was very blessed to have found another person to share his life with.

While Steve was a quiet man, his actions spoke loudly and instilled in kids work ethic, duty to family, and integrity. He gave everything of himself to his wife and kids throughout his life. He was an exceptional man and will be missed more than he knows. We thank God that he allowed us the time, however brief it was, to spend with him.

Stephen leaves behind a loving wife of two years, Judy Ann, son Scott and his wife Melissa Webb, daughter Debrika and her husband Steven Kirk, daughter Deanna and her husband Jay Driver, brother David Shank, sister Mary Swann Shank, grandchildren Candace Page, Cody Webb, Abbagayle Kirk, Amia Driver, Andrew Kirk, Stephen Driver, and Lauryn Webb. Step daughters, Jennifer Hinkle-Meza and Katelyn Hinkle. He was proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Fredrica Swann Shank, brothers Michael and William (Billy) Shank, wife Georgia (Candy) Shank and daughter Lori Ann Page.
