Stephen Matthews
December 5, 1974 – September 28, 2025

Stephen Matthews, 50, passed away on September 28, 2025. A man defined by his deep faith in Jesus Christ, Stephen lived his life with conviction, creativity, and compassion.

After several years in the workforce, Stephen pursued his calling by returning to school, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Counseling and a Master's in Theology. His passion for ministry and service was evident not only in his education but in the many worship teams he contributed to over the years, sharing his gifts as a drummer and bass guitarist.

Stephen was also known for his lifelong love of horror movies, he created and ran the successful YouTube channel Craven Something Scary, which grew to nearly 14,000 subscribers. With a particular passion for the Scream franchise, Stephen fostered a welcoming and enthusiastic community of fellow horror fans.

In addition to film, Stephen had a deep love for music. His all-time favorite band was DeGarmo and Key, whom he and his father would travel to see together — memories he cherished deeply. That same love of music fueled his worship and creative expression throughout his life.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Amy; his daughter, Lydia; and his sisters, Sharon Wright and Brenda Kluetz (Karl) as well as Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Stephen will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his generous heart, his joy in the little things, and the community he built around his passions. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday October 11th at 10:00 am.
