Stephen Eugene Kramer, husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 8, 2024, in Houston, TX. He was 72 years old. Steve had spent the last several years of his life battling Parkinson's disease before succumbing to complications. He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene (Gene) and Charlotte Kramer, as well as his older brother Larry.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Joe Ann Kramer, and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, work ethic and devotion. He was a beloved father to daughter Charlotte/husband Kevin and son Stephen. Steve was most proud of his role as grandfather to grandson, John Joseph, and granddaughter, Kennedy. Steve is also survived by his brother, Curt Kramer/wife Angela, as well as many family members and lifelong friends.
After graduation from high school, Steve chose to start a career in the oilfield building a reputation for having a tireless work ethic and a keen attention to detail. Steve's career took he and his family across the globe. Many of these travels would be the subject of his go-to stories later in life. Outside of his professional life, Steve was a man of many talents. A skilled mechanic, woodworker, and all-around handyman. Steve enjoyed spending time "piddling" in his garage. Steve had many hobbies including sailing, fishing, hunting and his personal favorite, eating.
In the years proceeding his death, Steve was cared for with great compassion by his wife Joe Ann, whose dedication, devotion, and compassion most assuredly brought him comfort. Steve's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will always remember his kindness, dedication and the countless joyful moments spent with him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Friends are invited to visit with the family between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, TX 77065. The Rosary will be prayed at the conclusion of the gathering.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Parkinson's Foundation .
