Stephen "Steve" Phillip Denson, 77, of Houston, Texas, was called home to Jesus on July 18, 2026. A Celebration of Life will take place on July 24, 2026.

Steve was born on October 22, 1948, to Phillip Edwin and Katherine Pearl Denson in San Antonio, Texas. His "claim to fame" was that he was born just eighty yards from the Alamo, which sparked a deep passion for Texas history. Steve attended Shriner Institute for a year, then transferred to Southwest Texas State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. In 1968, while in college, he met Michelle at the local hangout, Frontier Burger. From that moment on, their love grew and they were married in 1970.

He spent more than 40 years in food distribution sales, where he was known for his personal touch with customers. Before entering a sales meeting, Steve always took a moment to think of something pleasant, ensuring a smile was always on his face when greeting his clients. It has been said, "He could've sold ice to an Eskimo." This strong sales ability was proven through the many accolades that he earned throughout his career, including Sysco's President Club, One Million Dollar Sales Award, and Purveyor of the Year from the Houston Chapter of the Texas Chefs Association.

While Steve was highly accomplished in his career, that was not the only wonderful thing about him. He genuinely loved life and making people laugh. He was always optimistic and loved pursuing many hobbies. Among his many interests were shooting, watching movies, and playing the drums. He also found fulfillment in serving as a shotgun instructor, sharing his knowledge and experience with others. He was never one to miss the opportunity to learn and enjoy something new. His greatest passion, however, was his family, whom he loved unconditionally and always worked hard to provide for.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Katherine, and his Uncle Ken.

Steve is survived by his wife, Michelle; his brother, Richard; his children, Kathryn Denson, Rachel Roberman (Denson), and Jeff Denson; and his grandchildren, Charlie, Sammy, and Rosalie Roberman.

Steve will be remembered for his contagious smile, laughter, kindness, and passion for living with honor and integrity in everything he did.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project. These were causes Steve passionately supported.
