Stephen L. Cullins, 63, of Spring, TX, passed away in his sleep Sunday morning December 10, 2017. Steve was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on August 13, 1954 and was the first born child to Henry L. and Beverly Cullins.
Steve was a man of many endeavors and his talent was sales. Steve started college at LSU and graduated at California State Hayward in 1982. He worked at C.F. Airfreight in San Francisco, and then moved to sales at AT&T. In 1987, he left the Bay Area and moved to Houston to be close to family and was the manager of the family-owned, Nick's Tavern until 1992. His bus trips for his Nick's Tavern patrons to Delta Downs and Gulf Greyhound Park were legendary, as were his Sunday cookouts on the back porch of Nick's. He later held sales positions at Dream Homes, Onice Stone, Aquatic Pools and Christeve Oil Company, Inc.
Steve's hobbies were reading, fishing, and following all the Houston sports teams, his LSU Tigers and the Oklahoma Sooners. Steve was a voracious reader and his home was filled with books on numerous subjects. Steve loved to tell stories and was well-known and liked by all his walking neighbors in Champion Forest XI.
Steve is survived by his loving mother, Beverly Cullins, his brother Chris L. Cullins and sister-in-law Janice and nephews, Joshua and Travis Cullins of Spring, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry L. Cullins.
We will dearly miss you Steve. You will always be in our memories and our hearts. We are comforted by the fact that you and Dad are together now, and are watching over us.
