Stephen Mark Anderson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away January 31, 2018. He was born on July 22, 1952 in Chicago, IL. He attended Notre Dame Catholic High school in Niles, IL until his senior year, and then graduated from Newman High School in Mason City. He was a great baseball player and pitcher while in High School. He then attended University of Northern Iowa graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. It is there where he met his wife Cheryl. They were married November 9, 1974 in Laurens, IA.
After college he accepted his first job in Des Moines, IA at the USDA office working in accounting. He and Cheryl then moved to Kansas City, KS where he worked at Panhandle Eastern. Following that job, they moved to Little Canada, MN where he worked at Land O Lakes. He ended his career at Hewlett Packard in Houston, TX. He worked as an auditor and Logistics Manager over his 27-year career at Compaq/Hewlett Packard. He retired in 2016.
In his younger years Steve enjoyed bowling with his wife Cheryl on league bowling nights. He also enjoyed golfing and playing softball. He also loved going to see his son play football in high school at Tomball High School and in college at Wofford College in South Carolina. As he got older and had grandchildren, he loved going to Austin to spend weekends with his daughter, her husband, and his two granddaughters.
Steve is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl Dershem Anderson, his daughter, Annie Anderson Hilton, her husband David and his two granddaughters Avery and Emma, and his son Brad Anderson. Preceding Steve in passing, are his parents, Carl George and Janet Anderson.
Visitation services will be held at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball Monday February 5th, from five to seven o'clock in the evening. A Funeral mass will take place at the chapel at Klein Funeral Home Tuesday February 6th, at 10 o'clock in the morning.
