Stella Ruth Rumfield passed into Jesus' arms at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. She was born at Jeff Davis Hospital in Houston to mother Estelle Hazell and father Alver Hazell. She graduated from Tomball High School in 1951 where she played the drums and was the drum major, and then attended the University of Houston in 1951 where she met Emmett Taylor Rumfield, Jr. They were married December 20, 1952 and together until he passed away in September 1982. She is survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-law Lance, Debbie, Ken, Jackie, Todd and Sarah Rumfield, her grandchildren Daniel, Timothy, Emmett, Molly, Ethan, Fawn, Jonathan, Autumn, Jennifer, Jamie, Sandon, Jason, and Yesica, great grandchildren Blake, Tess, Declan, Taylor, Hunter, James, Jaxon, Wyatt and Jayden, with two more on the way, as well as her brother Winfred Hazell and many other family members and friends.

She was raised as a member of Tomball Assembly of God where her parents were charter members. She loved Jesus and enjoyed gospel music. She played the piano and often sang along with her family at holiday gatherings. She was a talented crafter who enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She loved cooking and making treats such as peanut brittle, various candies, pizza and a number of family favorites including Red Velvet Cake for birthdays. She worked for Guaranty Bond State Bank as a secretary where she rose to the office of Vice President.

She loved shopping for a number of collectibles including Longaberger baskets and other Longaberger products, Precious Moment pieces, antiques and various other items that caught her fancy. She enjoyed flying, riding her motorcycle, playing golf and was active in the community. Once she retired, she volunteered at Tomball Hospital. She also enjoyed spending time with her siblings drinking coffee and playing an occasional game of 42.

We will miss her but know she is already celebrating with her family and friends who have passed on and we are certain we will see her again in the hereafter.
