Stella Mary (Stzelecke) Moszkowicz Meekes, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her hands folded in prayer. She went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2024 in Cypress, TX.

She was born on October 9, 1931 in Chappell Hill, TX. Her parents were Martha (Wisniewski) Stzelecke and Pete Stzelecke.

Stella grew up on the farm and when it wasn't "cotton picking" time, she attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School. She met and married Pete J. Moszkowicz in Chappell Hill in 1951 and held the reception at the family home. She and Pete made their home in Houston, TX and had four children: Lillian, Doris, Charles & Donald.

In later years, Stella was divorced and then married Truit R. Meekes in 1980. They made their home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. After Truit retired, they moved back to Texas and made their home in Tomball.

Stella worked many years for Bemis Brothers Bag Company before receiving a medical retirement. She loved plants and flowers and had quite a "green thumb." She was a good cook and cooked a lot especially at family gatherings. She baked all kinds of homemade cakes and pies. And she used an old recipe from her mother to make great "czarnina," duck soup. She had a talent for decorating and each room in her home was decorated beautifully. But what she loved best was having her family there with her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Truit R Meekes, her brother, Johnnie Stzelecke; her sisters, Albina (Stzelecke) Lewandowski and Genevieve (Stzelecke) Yorek Jatzlau; her neice, Geraldine Yorek; her nephew, James Yorek; and late daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn (Goodrum) Moszkowicz.

Stella is survived by her brother, Joe Stzelecke and wife, Rose--Mont Belvieu, TX; her sister-in-law, Joan Stzelecke--Magnolia, TX.

Children are: Lillian (Moszkowicz) Krolczyk--Houston, TX; Doris (Moszkowicz) Budnick--Friendswood, TX; Charles Moszkowicz and wife, Mary--Houston, TX; Donald Moszkowicz--Washington State.

Grandchildren are: Kristofer Krolczyk--Chappell Hill, TX; Kasey Krolczyk and wife, Katty--Conroe, TX; Chaz Moszkowicz--Houston, TX; Crystal (Budnick) Kimberly and husband, Jeffery--Friendswood, TX; and Megan Moszkowicz--Washington State.

Great-Grand Children are: Weston, Madison, Joseph (step) and Alessandro (step)

Stella also had numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at "Kastle of Angels", for taking care of their mother during her final days.
