1925-2016

Stanley Charles Brown of Tomball, Texas passed away peacefully Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the age of 91. Stan was born May 4th 1925 in Toronto, Ontario Canada to Charles and Lillian Brown. He married June Cook on September 3rd 1949 and in 1950 they moved to Texas where they have lived ever since.

Stan spent his career in the petrochemical business spending many years with McMurrey Oil Tool and Lummus Co. He also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and held numerous positions in the Methodist Church.

In their 66 years of marriage, Stan and June were originally members of St. Mark's U.M.C. where they helped start the Voyagers Sunday School class, which is still in existence. They were charter members of Memorial Drive U.M.C., later became members of Tomball U.M.C., Westminister U.M.C. and Bayview U.M.C. and finally back to Tomball U.M.C.

Stan is survived by wife L. June Brown, son Christopher Brown and wife Kate of Greenwood, Indiana, daughters Jennifer and husband Michael Solomon of Houston, Texas and Lorel and husband Stephen of Tomball, Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren Hannah Hohl, Rebekah Hohl, Erin Solomon and Alexander Brown.

Known as a thinker, a tinkerer and a craftsman, Stan could fix anything. He was fascinated with flight, whether feathered or mechanical, and knew volumes about each.

Stan battled Multiple Myeloma for 6 years and decided to donate his body to The Living Bank many years ago. The family extends its thanks to all of those who provided loving and professional care.
