Socorro "Nena" Martinez Lilang's Obituary
On April 18, 2022, Nena passed away peacefully in her sleep. Socorro "Nena" Martinez Lilang was a sweet, caring, and giving person. She was one of the identical twin daughters of Florencia and Gregorio Martinez, born on March 7, 1941, in Tiwi, Albay, Philippines. Nena was a proud mother of four to Maria Teresita, Maria Julieta, Amado Gregorio Jr. & Amado Antonio, and was predeceased by her husband, Amado Lilang.
Nena was a fine example of a true Christian. Anyone who meets her can say that her kindness and generosity are immeasurable. She'll be sure to give you what she can give and she will never say anything bad behind anyone's back. She was also a hardworking mom. Nena would supplement her primary job in the Candymaker factory in Manila by cooking different kinds of food to sell to provide for her family. Despite her children being in different places in the world, she always made sure she had time to see them together with their grandkids and great-grandkids. If there was anything they needed, she would do her best to give to them. They were her greatest treasure and love in life.
While Nena's family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Nena in a way that honors her spirit. Her family invites the community to join them. The viewing will be scheduled on Wednesday, June 8, 2022; 5 pm - 8 pm (Rosary - 7 pm), and will take place at Klein Funeral Home - Champion Forest. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 10 am in St. John Neumann Catholic Church
