In loving memory of Silvestre R. Salazar, who peacefully departed this life on February 17th, 2024, at the age of 92 in Houston, Texas. Born on December 31, 1931, to Ambrocio "Joe" Salazar and Maria Rodriguez in Hearne, Texas, Silvestre was a cherished member of a large and loving family.

He was one of seven siblings, Cira Salazar, Tom Salazar, John Salazar, Jesse Salazar, Lupe Salazar, and Lucy Salazar. Silvestre shared his life with Vira Urrabas, and together they had three children: Sylvia Salazar, Ray Salazar, and Roy Salazar. His legacy extended to six grandchildren: Michael Salazar, Candice Graff, Jason Graff, Charday VanOrstrand, Cherise Osmon, and Tiffany Vawter.

Silvestre, a veteran of the Korean War and a retired United States Postal Worker, dedicated his life to service. His commitment to family was unwavering, and he found joy in caring for his loved ones, watching baseball, and managing his rental properties. Silvestre's generosity and support touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his sister, Lucy, best friend, Vira, daughter, Sylvia, and beloved grandchildren. Silvestre's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will be cherished. Silvestre's legacy will live on through the love he shared with family and friends.

The visitation will be held at Klein Funeral Homes & Memorial at 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Spring, TX 77379 on Monday, February 26th at 5:00PM. The funeral will be held at the same location on Tuesday, February 27th at 10:00AM with the burial to follow at 1:30PM at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
