Sigmund (Sig) Bargaleski, 79, of Magnolia, Texas passed away before dawn on February 2, 2024 with his wife, Sue at his side at Tomball, Texas hospital under the care of Oasis Hospice. He expired as a result of recent respiratory problems, complicated by a long battle with Alzheimer's.

He was born in Utica, New York to the late Sigmund Joseph Bargaleski and Rose Amodio Bargaleski on September 23, 1944.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Susan Mooney Bargaleski; daughter Alyssa Hill; son Sigmund Paul Bargaleski and wife Amber; sister Martha Wylie and seven grandchildren: Nathan, Richard, Carson, Isaac, Aiden, Aubrey, and Olivia. He is also survived by his 3 cocker spaniels.

Sig graduated from Canton High School, in Canton, New York, Class of 1964.

Sig and Sue were married on June 28, 1969 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton. They moved to Houston, Texas in July of 1970, having lived in Madrid, New York during their first year of marriage.

Sig was a Loss Control Representative for several different insurance companies. He truly loved his profession which involved creating safety recommendations after visiting work sites. One work-related highlight for him was at Texas A&M (his daughter's university) during the construction of Reed Arena in 1995. He was videotaping the area at the exact time a crane fell. His insurance company surely appreciated having their own filmed documentation! Sig retired in 2008.

Sig loved all things outdoors, especially his many years of deer hunting in Nacagdoches and developing the property that surrounded their home in Magnolia.

He truly had a servant's heart throughout his life. In his boyhood years, Sig was an altar boy at St. Mary's in Canton.  After moving to Texas, he was a member of the CyFair Volunteer Fire Department (CFVFD) for over 50 years. He began his years of fire service in 1978 at Station 5 in the Bear Creek area, performed many roles through the years, and completed his service as a fire marshal for CFVFD.
