Sidney Francis Templeton was born September 30, 1922 in Purdon, Texas to Otis and Floy Templeton and he passed from this life November 5, 2016 encompassing ninety-four years, by any standard a long life. He had four brothers, Lloyd, Cecil, Aubrey and Clifford that have all gone before him. He was a caring father, grandfather and great grandfather and is survived by his wife Catherine of sixty-nine years, son Sid, daughter in law Candy, granddaughter Tracy Mentlewski and great granddaughters, Jamie, Rylie and Kallie. There was a special light in his eyes when those girls visited. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Although ninety-four years has made it so that many of his friends have passed on before him. He was a veteran of WWII, musician, Christian, Mason and Past Master of his lodge, Scottish Rite member and Shriner. For many years he was at the Shrine Circus every night it was in Houston and served in one capacity or another.

After his military service ended he worked in the metal business by day and played country music at night. If you knew Sidney you knew he loved country music playing with his friend Floyd Tillman from the 1940s through early 1950s. An accident with a drill press ended his guitar playing at his standard and he never went back.

He and Catherine loved their time at Chocolate Bayou and although he was not an avid fisherman he would take Catherine whenever she wanted to go and that was just about any time, she loved to fish. Chocolate Bayou became first their weekend retreat and then upon retirement where they spent many years enjoying their boats, relatives and friends for many weekend gatherings.

He is and will be missed.
