Celebrating the Life of Sibyl Marcelete Canning Berg

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Sibyl Marcelete Canning Berg, at home with her family on June 20, 2026. Sibyl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and caring for others. Sibyl worked for many years as a nurse and retired as a Director of Nurses. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.

Sibyl was born in Millry, Alabama on November 23, 1934. She was the third of six children. Her siblings were Dagna, Charles (Bud), Rose Marie (Rosie), George William (Peewee), and John Canning.

Throughout her life, she demonstrated kindness and empathy, marked by a refined sense of style. She believed in doing what was right and boldly asserted herself, earning the nickname "Sassy Sibyl." She was a devoted wife to John William Berg, Jr., known to family as Bill, for over fifty years. After his passing in 2007, she remarked that she missed him: "We really had such good fights." Though Bill used to say that he always got the last word: "Yes, dear."

Sibyl is survived by her children: Robin Androlake, Cheryl [Gary] Horn, Terri Berg, and John [Yvette] Berg III, grandchildren: Leah Horn, Jake Horn, John Berg IV, Justin [Tori] Berg and Lauren Berg; and great grandchildren: Esme Berg and Luke Marcus Berg, as well her  brothers, Bud and John, and younger sister Rosie. She is also survived by her precious companion and buddy, Benny, the family dog. Though she is no longer with us, her love and guidance remain ever-present.

A celebration of her life is scheduled for Monday, June 22, 2026, at Klein Funeral Home, Magnolia, Texas 77354, service time at 2:00 p.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives were impacted by Sibyl are welcome to attend and pay their respects.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their support, condolences, and loving memories shared. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pregnancy Assistance Center, The Woodlands 26464 I-45 281-367-1518, in honor of Sibyl's volunteer work there.

Sibyl will be remembered for her strong faith, believing in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord & Savior.

Sibyl will be deeply missed and loved forever. May her soul rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing.
