Shirley Rose Nettleton Reese, age 78, of Houston, TX went to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 7, 2024 in her home in Houston. Shirley was born on October 1, 1945 in Oklahoma City to Melvin Ernest Nettleton and Dorothy Mae Margolis Nettleton. After graduating from her beloved Classen High School, she attended Central State University. Afterwards, she began working in the oil and gas industry. She remained there until, on a whim, moved to Tulsa, continuing her work in oil and gas. It was there, on a blind date, she met her future husband, Joseph Thompson Reese. They were married August 23, 1975 and moved to Houston where both were involved in the oil and gas industry. After a couple years living there, Shirley happily left her career of many years to become a stay at home mother which was the most joyous time of her life.

Shirley is survived by her son Bryan Stewart Reese, daughter Elizabeth (Joseph) Lianne Cefaratti; grandchildren, Noah Reese Cefaratti, Abigail Rose Cefaratti, Chloe Anne Cefaratti, Nicholas Reese, and Timber Reese; sister Gwen Fleming of Norman OK; brothers Ernest Nettleton of Coos Bay, OR and Gerald Nettleton of Oklahoma City, OK; nieces, Cheryl Motiei, Shelley Roberts, and Nancy McDonald; nephew Greg Nettleton. Shirley is preceded in death by her father and mother, brother Gary Michael Nettleton, step son Scott Thompson Reese, and husband Joseph Thompson Reese. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse and the ASPCA.
