Shirley Leach passed peacefully at home surrounded by family March 23.  She was born in Michigan City, Indiana, November 20, 1926.  Her parents, Sylvan and Mary (Deets) Rose and former husband and father of her children, Truman, preceded her in death.  She is survived by her sister, Betty Rose Yonto, and brothers William and Robert Rose.

A true matriarch, Shirley headed five generations including 10 Children Bill Leach and daughter-in-law Shelia, Wendy Jokel and son-in-law Charlie, Kathy Moore and son-in-law Richard, Duane Leach, Cindy Leach, Steve Leach and daughter-in-law Connie, Linda Leach, Diane Hardy and son-in-law Chris, Stu Leach and daughter-in-law Cat, and Cheryl Kunkel; 19 Grand Children Laura Oden and husband Bryan,  Scott Hardy and wife Christine, Michael Chandler, Tonja Blundy and husband Bret, Shawn Leach, Erin Leach, Paige Leach, Allison Holifield and husband Lance, Rachel Garrett and husband Sam, Richard Moore Jr. and daughter-in-law Christine, Cole Moore, Travis Jokel, Stephanie Starr and husband John, Kari Dillon and husband Corey, Haley Henry and husband Gavin, Matthew Leach and wife Katie, Laura Medley, Dana Kunkel and wife Montse, and Sara Cardinale and husband Sal; 17 Great Grand Children:  Brandon Leach, Abby Oden, Delaney Garrett, June Garrett, Jackson Holifield, Salvatore Cardinale, Dayton and Dustin Kolczak, Mady Blundy, Hayden Starr, Piper Starr, Sterling Starr, Camden Dillon, Kensley Dillon, Ashleigh Starchman and husband Adam, Jared Vogel and Preston Leach; 7 Great, Great Grand Children: Atticus Starchman, Ava Starchman, Scarlet Vogel, Brilyn Vogel, Mason Chandler, Kenzie Chandler, Cooper Chandler.

Shirley loved to travel by train or car, to go fishing and to the beach, to visit family including the many nieces and nephews dear to her heart, to read, and to play cards.  She was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas, and greatly enjoyed their Seniors and Bible Study Group.

Matthew 25.21 is the verse by which Shirley wanted to be remembered.

Because of the current global crisis, a celebration of her life will be announced and held when possible.
