On Friday, February 24, 2023, Sherri Lynn Cobler Anderson left this world in the company of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to rejoin her mom Nancy Doss Cobler Thomas, her father Lloyd Cobler, her step-father Flynn Thomas, grandparents Antoinette and Robert Doss, Inia and Thomas Cobler, step-grandparents Alma Thomas and Russell Thomas, brother Forest Cobler, and other family and friends in a heavenly celebration which will last for eternity.

Sherri leaves behind her cherished husband Edgar A. Anderson, daughter Antoinette (Annie) Anderson, son Ethan Anderson, brother Reed Cobler and wife Sheron Cobler, brother Guy Thomas, sister-in-law Carolyn Anderson, many precious nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.

Sherri was a caring, thoughtful, and fun-loving person with an incredible love for others. She loved to spend time with family and friends, to hangout at the beach and to pour her time and love into young people. She also loved to travel and had plans to visit Australia, the one continent she had not visited.

Sherri was born in Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas on May 3, 1957. She grew up in the Oak Forest area of Houston and attended Waltrip High School. After high school, she graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Education from Sam Houston State University, with a minor in Special Ed. While in college she was active in the Education Society and served in Austin as the State Student President of the Texas State Teachers Society. Following graduation she spent time in Sierra Leon, Africa with the Peace Corps instructing teachers in the latest education techniques.

After returning home to Houston, Sherri taught kindergarten and first grade in the Cypress Fairbanks School District. She had a dedicated and successful career pouring her talents and affection into her students. She was also very active at Champion Forest Baptist Church (CFBC) teaching preschool Sunday School classes for 20+ years. At CFBC, she also led the Girls in Action group, the Mom's In Touch group and had numerous other areas of involvement.

In January 1986, Sherri met the love of her life, her husband Edgar Anderson on a blind date. They were married on February 14, 1987. Their marriage was blessed with two wonderful children and Sherri was a wonderful wife and mother. Sherri supported Edgar in all is professional and civic endeavors and immersed herself in supporting her children's numerous activities including dance, soccer, basketball, swim team, band, orchestra, color guard, drama, choir, and more.

Sherri opened her house to numerous guests for Sunday School socials, various parties, visiting missionaries and family friends and people in need of a place to stay. She once hosted 36 ninth grade boys from CFBC for Freedom Weekend, after a fire made another host home unable. Family and friends' children will miss her annual Easter Egg Hunt, Trick or Treat and Happy Birthday Jesus parties.

A Celebration of Sherri's Life will be held on Saturday, March 18th at Champion Forest Baptist Church – Champion location at 15555 Stuebner Airline Rd. Houston, TX 77069.
