Sherina Victoria Barnes was born July 27, 1982 in Sarasota, Florida to Pamela Nadalini and the late Antonio Johnson. After graduating from high school, Sherina decided to join the United States Airforce where she served proudly. Sherina would go on to separate from the Airforce only to join the United States Navy where she would finish her military career of 5 years.
Throughout her time in the military Sherina received the Airforce Training Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Award, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Designation. Sherina achieved so much in such a small amount of time in the military, and knew she had way more to give to the world than just being a sailor.
Sherina would go on accomplish every goal she ever set for herself. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Psychology and her Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Sherina was an author, webpage designer, loan officer, real estate agent, financial advisor and small business owner, obtaining every license on the very first try. She was just so special, and her faith in God made her unstoppable. Sherina had such a brilliant and creative mind, loving heart, amazing soul, tremendous work ethic and beauty that demanded the attention of all when she walked in the room. However, nothing made her happier than being a wife and a mother. Cooking and caring for her family was her passion, and at that, she was the absolute best.
Sherina met her husband Jessie Barnes in May of 2005 on the USS TARAWA (LHA-1). They were able to enjoy her first and only deployment together, which lasted 7 ½ months. She traveled the world with him to Darwin, Australia, Dubai, Bahrain, Egypt, Singapore, Hong Kong and Hawaii. Sherina accepted Jessie's proposal and they would become husband and wife on October 7, 2006. Until she was called home, they never left each other's side. Sherina departed this life to be with the Lord on October 2, 2020 at 6:31 pm, knowing she met her soulmate and that she was so deeply loved.
Preceding Sherina was her father Antonio Johnson, her beloved Grandmother: Evelyn JoAnne Christian. Her Aunt: Cynthia Christian, and her Father-in-Law: Jessie Barnes Sr.
Sherina leaves to cherish her memory: Her Husband: Jessie Barnes. Her Four Beautiful Sons: Daevion Watkins, Perris Watkins, Jessie Barnes III, and Julian Barnes. Her Mother and Stepfather: Pamela & Christian Nadalini. Her Grandfather: Edward Eugene Christian. Her Uncle: Harold Smith. Her Aunts: Diana Williams, Bridgett Christian and Samantha Christian. Her Mother-in-Law: Linda Barnes. Her Sister-in-Law Angela Barnes, and a host of relatives and friends.
