Obituary

Michelle was born in Houston, Texas on September 17, 1970. She remained in Houston for a few years, then the family moved to California and Louisiana. Upon reaching her teen years, Michelle returned to north Houston to graduate from Cypress Creek High School in 1989.

Not feeling quite ready for college, she enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1990. After a few successful years of service, Michelle was discharged from the military in 1993. By this time, the family returned to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, so she traveled from Kentucky to reunite with them. Not long after this, she met her husband Casey Callahan while attending church in Baton Rouge. They married in 1995, then soon after left Baton Rouge for Alexandria, LA for Casey's work. While in Alexandria, she attended Louisiana College (LC) to pursue her college degree. In 2001, Michelle graduated from LC with high honors in Psychology and Sociology while being married and raising two young girls, Elizabeth and Rebekah.
Casey and Michelle, both born in Texas, always desired to return to their home state. In 2003, God opened the door for them to return by giving Casey a job in Tomball, TX. Michelle put her degree to great use by teaching in the Fort Bend and Klein school districts as well as Trinity Lutheran school. While teaching, Michelle received multiple awards for excellence in teaching.

Unfortunately, despite these huge accomplishments, Michelle's health was problematic due to thyroid cancer. She fought valiantly against the disease until collapsing at work in 2016. From that point, Michelle was forced to focus on her health issues full-time. Despite using all possible treatments, Michelle was not able to overcome the disease.

Michelle passed while at home under hospice care on December 4, 2019 at the age of 49.

This wonderful woman is survived by her husband, two daughters, mother, brother, and countless other family members.
She is and will be missed by all who knew her.
