Obituary

Sharon Lee Cassell, 67, of Spring Texas, entered into Heaven on November 15, 2024, at 11:26 am after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  Her final moments were spent at home surrounded by her daughters Wendy and Ginny.

Sharon was a proud mother to Wendy and Steven Walters, Jonie Redmond, Virgina (Ginny) and Marcel Clark.  In addition to her girls, Sharon was the surrogate stepmother to Michael and Lisa Boyd, Richard Bassler and his fiancé Elizabeth (Lizzie) Webster.

Sharon deeply loved her family and that showed by her dedication and involvement in her grand and great grandchildren's lives. She was the proud grandmother to Kody and Morgan Walters, Luca Como, Jazminn Allshouse Boyd and Cameron Rapp, Dakota Walters and Amin Ahmed, Kaleb Robinson, Kailey Boyd, Austen Boyd, Kristian Alverado, Kaden Loughridge. Great Grandchildren Merida Walters, Athena (Aurora) Walters, Anora Rapp and Samson Walters.

Sharon was a passionate follower of Christ who enjoyed serving in various church ministries and her community.  She volunteered at food pantries, cared for elderly neighbors and worked as a crossing guard at Klein ISD, leaving lives touched by her kindness and generosity.  Prior to her illness Sharon enjoyed a vibrant life working at the Gun Celler, advocating for tenants in her role as apartment manager for Dean Pennington.  She loved being outdoors, especially crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay or sharing adventures with her lifelong friend, Mellissa Brown.

Sharon was well known as being the only daughter to Robert and Virgina Cassell of Sykesville who strategically placed her as the middle child surrounded by six brothers Robert (pre-deceased), Herb, Wayne, Marvin (pre-deceased), Dave, and Don Cassell and attributed that blessing with building a tough fighting spirit which served her well throughout her life.

She will be dearly missed by her close family and those who loved her! The family asks that she be remembered for the joy and love she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.

A ceremony celebrating her life will be held at Christ Church Baptist Fellowship 12501 Champion Forest Dr, Houston, TX 77066 on December 6th, 2024, at 1pm and the family will receive friends there at Noon.  A TBD celebration of her life will take place in 2025 for family and friends in Maryland.
