Sharon Ann Campbell was born in Houston to Josie and Eugene Hertel on September 8, 1948. Sharon attended Sam Houston High School, where she met Roger, her loving husband of more than 50 years. First and foremost, she was a loving wife and mother and she prided herself on taking care of her family. Her daughter Kimberly was born in 1969 and her son Jimmy in 1976.

Sharon supported her family in many ways – from Roger's firefighter and union career to her children's school and extracurricular events. She was a member of the Firefighters' Ladies Auxiliary and a very active PTA member at Durkee Elementary through both Kim and Jimmy's elementary school years. Sharon made the costumes for Kim's school plays and dance recitals at Billie McDowell Studios. She ensured Jimmy was at every baseball practice and game on time with white uniform pants to start.

Sharon enjoyed the bowling league with Dad, but also her daytime league with friends she made through PTA. Roger and Sharon loved to go country dancing and took to square dancing with Stomping Saints. She also enjoyed many friendships made through the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She was a volunteer for the Aldine-Spring-Klein-Houston Metro Go Texan Committee and had achieved Lifetime Committeeman status. Mom co-founded LIPS (Ladies Into Purchasing Stock) with Sharon Simmons in 1992. The mission of LIPS was to raise money to support the youth of Texas in their educational, agricultural, and artistic endeavors, making every child feel as if he or she was a grand-champion winner.

Sharon loved to travel. She and Roger traveled to all 50 U.S. states as well as many excellent destinations in Mexico and Canada. Her beloved trips included the Smoky Mountains, Grand Teton, beaches, San Francisco, and the Las Vegas Rodeo Finals and Stampede in Canada. Many wonderful trips were shared with firefighter families, especially the annual firefighter lake trip which started in 1984.

Sharon worked at Hilburn Shores & Sherer until she "retired" which was the day after Roger retired after 36 years with the Houston Fire Department. In retirement, she enjoyed and focused on her grandchildren: Daniel, Kolton, Jamie, Kalie and Zoie. She supported all that they wanted to do and attended countless events with them with beaming pride!

All that knew Sharon know her love of shopping, jewelry, crafting and living life! So many speak of her always being beautifully "put together," her genuine demeanor, and her infectious smile! She was a loving friend, wife, mother and Nonnie. She will be missed by so many!

Friends are invited to visit with the family between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday, December 14, at Klein Funeral Home - Magnolia-The Woodlands, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX 77354. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, at Salem Lutheran Church, 22601 Lutheran Church Road, Tomball, TX 77377. Face coverings will be required at both the funeral home and church.
