Selma Mae Sekol, 88, of Tomball, Texas, passed peacefully into the presence of our Lord on January 18, 2026. Born on January 26, 1937, in (Long Lake) Palestine, Texas, she was the only daughter of Howard and Clara Stevens. Selma was one of a set of twins, her twin brother, Elmer Stevens and a younger brother, Howard "Wayne" Stevens. All deceased.

Selma graduated from Woodhouse High School in 1955 as salutatorian of her class and captain of the girls' basketball team. After graduation, she worked in Palestine as a car hop for a few years. One weekend she made a trip to Odessa Texas to visit her twin brother, where she met the love of her life, Robert E "Zeke" Sekol, on a double date. The two married on September 23, 1961, and shared sixty-four beautiful years together, raising three children and five grandchildren. Selma was a resident of Houston, Texas for 59 years. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose life was filled with kindness, generosity, and faith. She was part of a bowling league and an active part of the community.

Selma taught early Childhood Development for several years at Green Valley Elementary. A gifted spirit and teacher, her talents extended to singing, sewing, music, and cooking. Selma was a member of Christ Lutheran church in Northshore, where she sang in the choir. Selma cherished her family, friends, and neighbors, filling every gathering with love, laughter, warmth, and good food.

Selma is survived by her beloved husband Robert E Sekol; her children, Lisa Sekol Rupp, Roger Sekol, and Robert "Brian" Sekol; her grandchildren; Gretchen Rupp, (twins)-Emily, and Keely Rupp; daughters of Lisa; (twins)-Jeanna Sekol and Sebastian Sekol; children of Brian Sekol.

She also leaves behind many beloved relatives, extended family members, neighbors, and many friends along the way. Memorial services to celebrate the life of Selma Sekol are to be announced and conducted at a later date.
