Obituary

Sebastian Jon Weiskopf was born April 14, 1993 in Santa Monica, California. Throughout his brief life, he dedicated himself in service to others. He had a big heart; he put others first. He was a protector, a warrior who was loyal to his friends and his country. He had a great sense of humor, a beautiful smile that revealed his humility, easy manner and a quiet confidence. He had an uncanny connection with and love for animals.

On July 3, 2017 at 9:50 p.m. just outside of Childress, Texas during a sandstorm, he was killed in a highway accident.

Sebastian graduated from Chaminade College Preparatory High School in West Hills, CA in May 2011, where he played lacrosse and football. He was a student counselor in the senior Kairos Retreat Program. He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served from January 2012 to April 2015 in B Company, 1-12 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Infantry. He was stationed at Fort Hood and served eleven months in South Korea. After leaving active duty, he immediately joined the National Guard, A Company, 1st Battalion, 141 Infantry at Camp Bullis, San Antonio, Texas where he served before his accident.

Sebastian had just completed his first year as a full-time student at Houston Community College. While attending college, he worked full-time as a senior firearms instructor at Boyert Shooting Center in Westheimer, Houston. He taught courses in "License to Carry", "Handgun Progression Program," "Rifle Progression Program," and group handgun courses.

He is survived by his wife Brittany Weiskopf of Houston, Texas, his mother Patricia E. Weiskopf of North Carolina, his sister Caitlin R. Weiskopf of New York, and his father John M. Weiskopf and his step-mother Judy A. Weiskopf of Rockville, Maryland.
