Sean Michael Kelley, 41, of Cypress, Texas passed away outside of Seattle, Washington on January 31, 2018. Sean is survived by the love of his life, Michelle, his beautiful daughters Kate (11) and Anna (8), his loving and devoted parents, John and Kathy Kelley, his younger sisters and biggest fans, Lauren Scott, Claire Klein, Julia Spurr and his seven (soon to be nine) crazy and adorable nieces and nephews, all of whom adored their Uncle Sean. Born April 30, 1976, in Houston, Texas, Sean graduated from Klein High School in 1994 and went on to obtain a B.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas in Austin and an M.S. in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Sean had a natural passion and affinity for all things related to technology. He could build the platforms and operating systems of the devices most of us could hardly power on and off. Upon graduating from SMU, he found a home at Microsoft in Seattle, Washington, and more recently in Houston, Texas. During his 11 years at Microsoft, Sean built an incredibly successful career and was most recently a Principal Solution Specialist for Data & AI (South Central Region), based in Microsoft's Houston offices, a move he made to bring his family back to Texas. He was dedicated to his work and a genuine asset to the company.

As passionate as he was about his work, his heart belonged to his girls, Kate and Anna. He gave them the best gift any parent could—the gift of his time and undivided attention, and they adored him for it. He was patient and kind and invested in the activities they loved. He was their coach, referee, and a spirited spectator who was fully devoted to whatever they chose to do. They had countless adventures together and were looking forward to a cruise over Spring break. Sean had the uncommon ability to help them process their emotions and thoughts—one of the best gifts a father can give his daughters. He showed them how to love and appreciate family and loved them with everything thing he had. As one of his dearest friends Dave said best, "some people love their family because they feel like they have to. Sean really LOVED his family—as much as anyone we knew."

From the time he was a child, you would often find him buried in books of all kinds, perhaps his way of escaping life with three sisters. He was an intellectual with an insatiable hunger for knowledge who never stopped learning, and he used that knowledge to connect with people from all walks of life. Sean could make a stranger feel like a friend within the first 30 minutes of meeting them. He had a great sense of style, a passion for good food, and a love for adventure. He made us all laugh with his wit, and his laugh will be forever missed.

In going through memorabilia from Sean's past, we came across a letter that he wrote to his Uncle Scotty just before he graduated from college where he described meeting Michelle: "I just started dating a girl in my business fraternity back in January and things are going great. She is the first girl I've ever fallen in love with and it feels great! Her name is Michelle Jumonville and she's from Austin. She's intelligent, beautiful and she brings out the best in me."

Sean cannot be replaced and leaves a hole in all our lives that cannot be filled, but he left a lifetime of memories that will carry us through until we meet again. We loved him with everything we had, something he may have taught us along the way. May he rest in peace.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11am, Monday, February 12, 2018 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister Rd., Houston, TX 77065.

Sean's family invites you all to a reception following the service at the Community Hall at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church to celebrate Sean's life. Pappasito's will be served, one of Sean's all time favorite restaurants. His family also wants to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation for the outpouring of love and support you have shown them over the last couple of weeks.
