Lemuel Scott Smith was born November 13, 1964, to Lem and Jeri Smith in Tyler, Texas. He passed away unexpectedly on April 14, 2023 at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital following complications of open-heart surgery.

Scott would talk to anybody that would listen.  He loved teaching, politics, history, science and motorcycles, in no particular order.  But his true loves were his fur babies Momo, Ellie Mae, Bebe, Sadie, Aubrey, Maggie, Molly and Harley.  He loved taking pictures of his fur babies.  He often talked about doing pet photography as a side gig, and if he had his way, every dog that needed a home would have one at his house.  He loved flowers and having them around the house, inside and out.  He was an avid Houston Oilers fan.  He often talked about the Luv Ya Blue days.  He could quote stats and tell you about almost every player and coach on the team and what years they played.

Scott dabbled in a lot of industries during his years.  He worked in the glass, blind, shutters and window business.  He worked with his dad in the family fence business.  It wasn't until 2016 that he found his niche.  He started at Water District Management with encouragement from a longtime friend.  He had found his work family.  He was business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  He loved the company and most importantly he loved the people he worked with.  He hated taking time off.

Scott firmly believed that blood didn't make you family.  He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  He helped people get their feet on stable ground when they needed it, because he had the same done for him.  He didn't always speak about how he felt about you, but it showed in his actions.

He loved his newly acquired family with Los Camaradas Motorcycle Club.  He loved the camaradarie and every guy in the club.  He loved being part of something that had a purpose.  He joined because he saw how they treated a person who wasn't a part of the club and came to an untimely death, and that was the type of person Scott was as well, so it was a perfect fit.  He was affectionately given the road name Grumpy.  If you knew Scott, you know why.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Lem Smith and Jeri Moore.  Brother Bobby Smith and sister Sheri Love.  He is survived by his wife Denise, sister Sondae Roberts, niece Danielle and nephew Nicholas; step mom Donna Smith, Aunt and Uncle Pat and Jack Neel.  Sister in Law Kendall Dodgen and niece Peyton.  Brother in law Marcus Dodgen and wife Reenie, nieces Maddie and Morgan.  Stepsons Jason Brown and wife Miranda), Justin Mitchell and fiancé Kayla.  Grandsons Ethan and Braxton and too many friends to name.

Scott left a hole in the lives of many that cannot be filled by anyone else.
