Scott Benjamin Lockhart, born February 28, 1971 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 1st with his loving wife Angela by his side. Scott's profound Faith, Trust and Love in our Lord Jesus Christ brought him serenity and joy knowing God has wrapped him in the Love and Peace of Eternal Life.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Franklin Lockhart, and his mother, Evelyn Webster Lockhart. He is survived by his beautiful wife Angela and their two wonderful sons, Zachary Benjamin Lockhart (wife Emma and precious granddaughter Harper Joy) and Adam Scott Lockhart.

Scott was just 15 years old when his parents passed away, which left him on his own. He was attending Lamar High School as a freshman at that difficult time but had to leave to find work and support himself. Scott's "career" began at Neal's Cookies where he exceeded expectations and became the manager, all the while earning his G.E.D. Not finished with his education, Scott enrolled into the University of Houston-Downtown and continued pursuing his love of history, but also excelled in courses pertaining to logic and law. He simply loved all things relating to 'fair and just' reasoning. While Scott read his whole life, he read to learn, to understand, to know how to serve others best.

During this time Scott met Margaret Poissant, an attorney who immediately put him to work in her law office and changed his life. Scott's paralegal experiences further guided him to pursue 'fair and just' outcomes, and that's when Scott found his calling – to be a mediator and help others in dispute find common ground and compromise for the sake of moving forward in a healthy, positive manner.

When Margaret retired and closed her business, Scott continued his career path and found himself hired as an assistant manager for Brucette's Shoe Store . . . one of his best career choices to date! Seems there was a young lady hired only a month before and, yes, it was Love at First Sight! Scott and Angela were engaged only six months later, married on September 11, 1993, and they would welcome their first son Zachary two years later in 1995. John and Darlene Landry, Angela's parents, welcomed Scott into their hearts and have loved him as a son ever since. John took Scott to the family farm, and Scott quickly learned and loved everything 'farming and hunting'! Many, many wonderful stories and memories are rooted in love at the farm. Scott had found home again.

While supporting his young family, Scott continued his career opportunities and grateful to work his way from the bottom up to "all things possible". He was a mechanic and then managed the auto parts store until he took a chance of moving into the staffing agency industry. Again, working from the bottom up, Scott exceeded his own dreams and opened his own business, Texas Head Hunters, in 2000. Angela owned and operated her home daycare business, and they welcomed their second son Adam in 2008.

Scott and Angela closed the head hunter business in 2013 when Scott was hired doing contract work for Silver Eagle Distributors. God had a plan for this family.

Scott was hired as a full time employee shortly after, moved up to an HR manager position and then promoted to Director of Risk. Scott and Angela have been blessed for these last eight years. There are simply NO words to express their Gratitude, Appreciation and Love for their Silver Eagle family who has stood firmly and lovingly by Scott's side throughout these last three and a half years. Scott was diagnosed with Stage 3B lung cancer in 2018. It has been an uphill fight from the beginning. But Scott had been challenged before so he would face this one with the same fight and strong will. And he did.

Scott defied all odds at every turn, faced death countless times, defeat or giving up was never an option. He fought for Angela and for his family when it certainly would have been easier to say 'enough'. Scott is The Hero for his family. His motto "FIGHT, WIN" will be in their hearts forever. Scott's legacy is his loving spirit, his kind heart and his belief that we should treat others the way we want to be treated.

There are so many, many Special people to thank who have helped Scott, Angela and their family throughout this difficult journey. Huge Thanks go out to their Epiphany Lutheran Church family, their Silver Eagle Distributors family, their Lions football family, their Hamilton Elementary and Middle School families, and their Goodson Middle School family. We simply do not know how we could have faced the many challenges over these past years without your prayers, time, love and more prayers. Thank You.
