Surrounded by his family, Scott Lovell Holyoak, 61, our beloved husband, father, son, grandpa, brother, and friend passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.  He suffered from acute liver failure followed by multi system organ failure.

Scott was born on February 15, 1956, in Provo, Utah to Ada Jeanine Myers and Alan Bruce Holyoak, and grew up in the Salt Lake City area.  From 1975-1977, he served in the Oslo, Norway mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Scott always cherished the experience, and his love for Norway and its people continued throughout his lifetime.  On April 21, 1978 he married his sweetheart, Tracie Ann Richardson, in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS temple.

In 1982 he graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He remained BYU's biggest fan through thick and thin.  Scott started his career in Houston, Texas as one of the first hires for Compaq Computer Corporation as an Accountant. He later worked in high-tech sales and then sales training, where he excelled.

Scott had a special gift for teaching and connecting with people. He was very charismatic and befriended everyone.  His love of acting and his gift for bringing laughter to every situation lifted the hearts of everyone he met.  Scott expressed his love of music through singing and playing the guitar.  He always enjoyed a good game of golf and was a passionate cyclist.  His beautiful photography tells the story of his world travels with his wife and his great love for family.

His greatest joy and happiness and the object of his constant prayers centered on his beloved children and grandchildren.

His trust in Jesus Christ as his Savior never wavered, and his devotion and love to the Gospel of Jesus Christ deeply influenced his family and friends. As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he especially loved teaching the youth, and they admired and respected him.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents Alan and Ada Jeanine Holyoak and is survived by his wife, Tracie Ann; his four children: Brooke Jeanine, Michael Scott (Rebecca), Maren Catherine (Austin) and Spencer Edward; his seven grandchildren: Jameson, Calvin, Emma, Maverick, Robert, Travis and Milo; his siblings: Carla Cook (Kay), Mark (Jana), Lisa Wyciskalla (Jim), Doug (Charisse) and Brad (Jean).

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 12310 New Hampton Dr, Tomball, TX, at 10:30 a.m. Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on the same date and same location. Scott will be interred at a later date in Murray, Utah.
