Obituary

SCOTT ALLEN BOUBEL "COX"

Passed away after a long battle with Anaplastic Thyroid cancer on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at MDAnderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Scott was born March 8, 1965 in San Antonio, Texas to Jack Boubel and Donna Neeley. He graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in finance. He worked many years as a sales executive in the telecom industry, and later became a Senior Business Analyst. Once that position ended Scott started his own business Total Proformance to follow his passion of working on and restoring classic muscle cars and building race cars. He was an avid drag racer with a lifetime love of the sport which he passed onto his children and grandchildren who also love the sport of racing.

Scott married the love of his life Bonita Derrick on August 15, 1992. They have been together for 36 years and married for 32. He instantly stepped into the role of dad and the rest is history. He was a devoted father and grandfather. They moved to Houston in 1992 and made Cypress their home. Over the years many have been welcomed into their hearts and home to become a part of their family. To know him is to love him. And if he loved you there is nothing that he wouldn't do for you. He is the epitome of honesty, loyalty, hard work, dedication, and his level of integrity is second to none. He valued his faith and always shared his love of the Lord with others. Always willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Scott is survived by his loving wife Bonita; his children – son Brandon Cloud and wife Lauren; daughter Brandy Benedict and husband Brian; and son Shane Cloud; Six Grandchildren Delilah, Skylar, Charles, Ella, Delaney and Bailey.

He is preceded in death by his father Jack Boubel; his mother Donna Peterson; and grandfather John B. Cox.
