Obituary

Sarah Kash was born in 1941 in Memphis Tennessee. In 1952, she moved with her family to Bowling Green Kentucky, where her father, E. J. Bonner, became superintendent of the Potter Orphan Home. Sarah attended David Lipscomb University in Nashville, and in 1963 graduated with a music major in voice.  She taught in Nashville's public schools for two years, and later worked for two years in the Social Services Department of the State of Louisiana. Sarah was a member of various community choruses, including the Louisville Bach Society. She served as president of the Beaumont Interfaith Choral Society, and was choir director and organist at St. John Lutheran Church in Beaumont Texas. At Living Word Lutheran Church in The Woodlands, Sarah was on the executive board of Women of the Word, serving as Christian Growth Chairman. During her six years at Living Word, she was a member of the choir and participated in handbells. She assisted in providing music for worship services and preschool programs. Sarah enjoyed using her musical talents for other people and for the glory of God. A dedicated wife and mother, Sarah is survived by her husband Lewis and her children Stephen and Jeanette. All her life Sarah was committed to Christian service, and she was active in many church and community service projects. We will miss her greatly.
