Sandy Vross Keane passed on July 9, 2021, after a valiant eight-month battle against the effects of a post open-heart surgery stroke. Sandy, a devout Catholic and active member of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community in Spring, is now pain free with our God in heaven.
Sandy is survived by her adoring husband of 37 years, Terry Keane; her daughter, Heather Keane Cooksey and husband, Tyler; daughter, Kelly Keane; sister, Kathy Vross Stamp and husband, Jim; brother, Frank Vross and wife, Amy.
Sandy was born on September 28, 1953, in Akron, Ohio. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University in Chicago and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas. Sandy worked as a pediatric critical care nurse at Texas Children's Hospital after completing her education.
Sandy graciously put her career on permanent hold to devote her time to raising her daughters and nurturing her family. No children could ever ask for a better mother! No husband could ever ask for a better wife!
Sandy was a master quilter. Her creations became gifts to family members and friends or were donated to charitable organizations to be used in live auctions, often raising $2000 for a single quilt.
Sandy lived her faith in many ways, serving as an early childhood and middle school catechist, an advocate at Loving Choice Pregnancy Help Center, a Girl Scout leader, an after-prom chairperson, a sewing teacher at a local community center, and more.
Sandy loved a good party and was particularly fond of holiday and birthday celebrations. The Griswolds had nothing on our home at Christmas time!
Sandy will be missed by many. Her exceptional listening skills, genuine empathy, and non-judgmentalism yielded an abundance of close friendships. However, no one will miss her more than her family. Sandy made our lives uniquely special with her unequivocal love and understanding.
Rest in peace, sweet Sandy!
