Sandra Lutman Hickey's Obituary
The world has lost the most amazing woman, but heaven gained the most perfect angel. On the morning of November 18th, 2017 Sandy left her broken body and walked into Jesus arms free from all pain and discomfort. Sandy has never once complained about her condition (pulmonary fibrosis, COPD and CHF) when asked how she was her reply was "I am ok, just tired" or as she caught her breath she would say "I am just catching up". In the evenings before bed I would ask her if she needed anything she would tell me "New heart, new lungs in Christ Jesus" and I would reply "Amen". This makes me smile, because now she has those new heart and lungs in Christ Jesus. For those of you who knew her, knew the heart of gold she had. Sandy never met a stranger, welcomed everyone and loved with all of her being. Our mother loved to give. Even when she did not have much to gift. So in her final act of giving she was an organ donor and thru that she was able to continue her generous legacy. So while we are sad, We rejoice because she was ready to go home. She was ready to meet her heavenly father and she was ready to be made whole again. We will gather as a family and share stories, we will cry and laugh, we will struggle but all of us can agree, we are so much better because of her. So please smile when you read this, share a story if you have one and help us celebrate her very special life. We have had a few people ask what charity they could contribute to in her name and my suggestion is, as you are shopping for Christmas, pick an angel from a giving tree and show her love to a family in need. She loved Christmas and as a single mom couldn't always make it as grand as she wanted.( We never noticed! ) She taught us what Christmas was about and the thought of us showing her love to strangers during a season she treasured, makes my heart full.
Sandy was Born on December 18, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to Darrell and Betty Lutman. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Rusty Lutman and sisters Sherry Scheanwald and Gayle Thober.
She is survived by her children, Becky Niebel and husband Chris. Wendy Lewis and Brian Hmelewsky. Her Grandchildren Taylor Niebel and his wife Brittany. Elyssa Baldwin and her husband Trenton, Emily Niebel, Brittany Lewis, Ashten Lewis, Gavin Hmelewsky and Rylee Hmelewsky. Her sister Marcia Macey and husband Mark. As well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She truly left her mark on this world and we are so glad to have been a part of it.
Please join us in remembering and celebrating Sandy. We welcome the chance to hug you, and hear your stories. The family will receive friends Monday, November 26, 2018 at Klein Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 with funeral services at 2:00 in the chapel of Klein Funeral Home,14711 F.M. 1488, Magnolia, Texas. Burial will follow at Klein Memorial Park, Magnolia.
