Sandra Kay Broughton went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

She leaves behind many family and friends who loved her very much.

Sandra was born July 6, 1945, the youngest child and daughter of George and Mabel Cude. She is preceded in death by her parents.

She grew up in Brady, Texas and graduated from Brady High School in 1963. She worked for Main, Lafrentz & Co., CPAs, where they eventually moved her to Houston. In Houston, she met Charles Broughton at Dancetown USA. The two married three months later on October 11, 1969.

Tired of being a bookkeeper who regularly trained accountants fresh from college, she took the bold and courageous step to go back to college. With an encouraging husband and two noisy kids in tow, in 1982, she proudly received her BBA from The University of Houston. She had a job offer from BFI before she walked off the stage.

Years later she went on to being an extremely successful entrepreneur in the field of accounting and obtaining EA "Enrolled Agent" status with the Internal Revenue Service.

Sandra used her genius accounting skills to help some of the largest businesses to the single family file taxes and alleviate the burdens of taxes/accounting deadlines everyone has dealt with in one way or the other.

She leaves behind, Charles, her husband of fifty-two years. Two children; son, Clifton (Cliff), partner Emily Lane, and daughter, Amanda (Mandy), husband, Paul; nine grandchildren, Kay, Miranda, Blake, Timothy, Taylor Rae, Jake VanHuis, Miranda VanHuis, Ayden Shoemaker, Olivia Shoemaker; older siblings, sister, Maxine Whitley, and brother, George Jr., wife Cherry.

She was a member of First Baptist Church Tomball and the Adult III Sunday School class.

Sandra loved helping people, from driving her senior adult friend to doctor's appointments to driving neighborhood kids home from their bus stop when it rained. She had a generous heart for all, until she sat down to play 42. The uninitiated sat on her right only once when playing the game. Her sharp mind and keen strategic nature kept her on top of the 42 leader's board.

Sandra lived for her grandchildren.  She wanted to be involved in everything that they were involved in and supported/encouraged them in any way she possible could, they were her life.

She loved friends--made them family-- family, and family reunions. We are sure she is enjoying the family reunion in Heaven right now.
